Catholic Schools Week Mass Celebrated January 28
Hundreds of Catholic school students gathered at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Wednesday, January 28, for a special Mass celebrating Catholic Schools Week, which runs January 25-31.
Savannah Bishop J. Kevin Boland main celebrant of the Mass, which included students from the 20 Catholic schools in South Georgia.
"Catholic Schools Celebrate Service" is the theme of this year’s observance. Instead of a monetary collection during Mass, students placed scrolls listing what each school community does to serve God and others in the collection basket.
Students from each school carried banners during an entrance procession at the beginning of Mass.
