Savannah’s 185th public celebration of St. Patrick’s Day  began with mass for the Feast of St. Patrick at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist,

Father Patrick O'Brien, the 2009 Parade Grand Marshal celebrated the mass along with concelebrating priests from the Diocese of Savannah. Savannah Bishop J. Kevin Boland was main celebrant.

St. Patrick's Day Mass



Homilist was Archbishop Oscar H. Lipscomb, the Archbishop Emeritus of Mobile, Alabama. He holds a Ph.D. degree in history from the Catholic University.
