One in the Spirit Banner Specifications

Printer-friendly version

Every parish, school, organization, and ministry in a parish is invited and encouraged to prepare and bring a banner for the morning entrance procession. Registration is required by October 15 to participate in this procession. To register, or for questions, contact Margo Martin at 229-382-2442 or margo.martin@mchsi.com.

Banner specifications

  1. Please keep all banners consistent to the dimensions as stated or they may not fit in the banner stands.
  2. It is suggested that the cloth be lightweight and hang attractively. Heavy cloth will make the banner top heavy.
  3. Color, design, typography, content is left to your creativity. However, we suggest that you do not incorporate the date of the event in the design so that you may reuse the banner at another time.
  4. The vertical pole and the cross bar are to be of wood or pvc pipe with a diameter of 1¼ inches. The vertical pole should be 10 - 12 ft. long and the horizontal pole is to be 4½ ft. long. It is imperative that the poles be 1¼ inch diameter or it will not fit in the stands being provided.
  5. Consider the weight and balance of the banner when choosing your banner-bearers. Connecting narrow canvas strips from each end of the horizontal pole to the vertical pole near the bottom of the banner with Velcro may make large banners more manageable.
