My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As I reflect back on this year and I think about the gracious welcome I have received from all of you, my heart is full. Your generous spirit shines bright!

We created this Impact Report together to show you how your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) makes a difference. Through a global pandemic that deeply affected many parts of our own diocese, our work became even more vital. With your gift to the appeal, you made it possible to support:

  • Vocations

2 priests, 12 permanent and 2 transitional deacons were ordained while 12 seminarians continued their education.
  • Catholic Charities

Assisted over 10,000 clients with food, clothing and financial assistance and mobilized supplies to provide food boaxes that fed more than 250 parishioners in rural areas.
  • Catechesis for Children

Hosted an online confirmation night for 120 students and hosted weekly online training for religious education teachers.
  • Campus Ministry

Hosted a virtual retreat for 80 college students to continue practicing their faith at home.
  • Hispanic Ministry

Continued a weekly formation class online for 60 people.

I am truly thankful for this wonderful blessing! In the next few weeks you will receive information about the 2021 appeal. If you are able to make a gift in the same amount, I would be so grateful. However, if you are able to increase this amount, we will be able to accomplish much more for those in most need of our support. Your continued giving will touch the lives of so many people through programs and services funded by the Annual Catholic Appeal.

I wish you a very happy New Year. May we meet each day in our prayers and may we Rejoice in the Lord Always!

In Christ,

Most Reverend Stephen D. Parkes, D.D.
Bishop of Savannah
