Jacob Almeter

Transitional Deacon

I was born in Augusta, GA in 1984. I am one of six children. I grew up as a country boy, hunting, fishing, and working construction. My family is part of the Alleluia Community where I also went to school at the Alleluia Community School in Augusta, GA. After high school I went to Christendom College for one year, then transferred to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduated with an associates in Criminal Justice.

I then transferred to Augusta State University and was working on a bachelor's in Criminal Justice when I decided to enter seminary. Before I entered seminary I wanted to have a career in the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as a Game Warden. I put in over several hundred hours of volunteer work for the Department of Natural Resources and worked part time in their Game Management department.

My Home parish is The Most Holy Trinity parish in Augusta. I will be finishing my last year of seminary at Mount St. Mary's Seminary, where I have been for the past five years. I am looking forward to next summer, when by the grace of God I will be ordained a priest.
