In early 2025, I asked you to join me in pursuing a vision for our present and future Diocesan family – the historic Harvest of Hope capital campaign. Structured to strengthen and support our parishes, missions, and ministries, the campaign has united Catholics across the Diocese of Savannah in an effort to address not only our present needs, but to also serve as a gift to the faithful yet to come.
Thanks to your support, we have surpassed our campaign goal of $25M!
My friends, as your Bishop, it has truly been a blessing to witness your love for Christ and for one another as Harvest of Hope has moved from dream to reality. As we work together for the full coming of God’s Kingdom, may we continue to share what we have in a spirit of gratitude, excitement, and great joy!
This report highlights the transformative impact of the Harvest of Hope campaign, made possible by your generosity and your commitment to the mission of the Church. There truly is no limit to what the Lord can accomplish through us when we open our hearts and give of ourselves to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Over the next three years, as pledge commitments are honored, we will continue to fund every element in our campaign case statement. Quarterly distributions are already being made to each parish in fulfillment of the parish growth and development portion of the campaign, and these distributions will continue as gifts are received. Please know that we will remain transparent about the funding and creation of the parish endowments, the vocation endowment, the evangelization endowment, and the purchase of land in our great diocese. These seeds, planted in love, will surely bear much fruit.

Heavenly Father, who in Your providence have brought us together at this time and in this place, we ask You to guide, inspire, and bless our Diocese of Savannah and the Harvest of Hope campaign.
Provide us, Your children, with the rich soil of faith, hope, and love, that the seeds we are planting now will bear abundant fruit for generations.
As we work together for the full coming of Your kingdom, O Lord, may we find a new way of belonging to You and to one another, rejoicing always in Your generosity.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
How does Harvest of Hope Differ from the Annual Catholic Appeal?
For thus says the Lord: I know well the plans I have in mind for you—
plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope.

As I travel throughout the 90 counties of our diocese, I often think of the early missionaries to this territory whose trust in Christ helped to shape who we are today. What was their vision as they planted seeds of faith across our state? And what would they think now, 175 years later, for those seeds that were tended and nurtured over the decades have borne much fruit – a Harvest of Hope passed on to us.
In the forthcoming pages, I will be sharing with you a vision for our present and future Diocesan family – an historic effort that will support and strengthen our parishes and our diocese, and ensure a lasting legacy for our local Church – a Harvest of Hope for generations to come!
As you consider the exciting possibilities of this campaign, I ask you to reflect upon your love of our Catholic faith, the blessings bestowed upon you by the Almighty, and the manner in which you share your resources. How has God blessed you and your loved ones? How will your generosity today bear spiritual fruit well into the future?
Please know that I need your help to make these dreams a reality, and I invite you to invest yourself in the People of God through your prayers, your passions, and your financial support. Con el objetivo de recaudar 25 millones de dólares, la campaña capital Cosecha de Esperanza se basa en lo que aprendimos de la iniciativa de planificación diocesana Reflexionar+Renovarse+Alegrarse, que comenzó en 2021 (diosav.org/rejoice).
Esa iniciativa identificó necesidades y oportunidades de crecimiento en cinco áreas de interés: evangelización, clero y vida consagrada, obras de caridad, dinamismo parroquial, y propiedades y conservación.
Con la bendición de Dios y el apoyo de los fieles, la campaña Cosecha de Esperanza aportará fondos a cada una de nuestras parroquias y misiones; establecerá fondos patrimoniales para la educación de los seminaristas, las vocaciones y la evangelización; obtendrá la financiación de un terreno céntrico en la diócesis; y apoyará la Campaña Católica Anual 2025. PARISH GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
The Harvest of Hope campaign will infuse parishes with much-needed funds to be used in the way that best benefits them.
The campaign target for each parish will include the 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal. Once a parish surpasses its 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal goal, 50% of the funds collected up to its Harvest of Hope target will return to the parish. Once a parish surpasses its Harvest of Hope target, 70% of the additional funds collected will return to the parish. Each parish will be assigned a “good-faith target.” These targets are goals, not assessments, meaning each parish is asked to simply do their best in raising funds.
PARISH ENDOWMENTS
In celebration of our Diocesan Jubilee and to aid parishes in planning for a robust future, the Harvest of Hope campaign will enable parish-specific endowment funds to be established or enhanced in every parish and mission of the diocese. These endowments will reside with the Catholic Foundation of South Georgia.
Land Acquisition
As a diocese covering 37,000+ square miles, coming together as a Church family to worship God and celebrate our faith is a challenge. Funds from the Harvest of Hope campaign will contribute to the purchase of a centrally-located tract of land for a future gathering space.
EVANGELIZATION ENDOWMENT
Through the Harvest of Hope campaign, funds will be directed towards evangelization efforts that truly bring people into the life of Christ and his Church. Harvest of Hope will establish a new diocesan endowment with an emphasis on providing direct parish-based grants to enhance evangelization efforts at the parish and diocesan levels.
This new fund will support youth, young adult, family life, multicultural, and faith formation ministries in parishes throughout the Diocese of Savannah.
VOCATION SUPPORT
We are blessed with a growing number of men in formation for a life of priestly service. Funding this ministry, which operates at an annual cost of $56,000 per seminarian, is essential. The Harvest of Hope campaign will create a new diocesan endowment to assist the Annual Catholic Appeal in providing for the education of seminarians and promoting a culture of vocations.
2025 Annual Catholic Appeal
Each year, the faithful of the Diocese of Savannah commit to supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal, sustaining the ministries, programs, and outreach efforts that exist to serve our local Church and Almighty God. The Harvest of Hope campaign will allocate $3 million to fund the 2025 Appeal.

CRECIMIENTO Y DESARROLLO DE LAS PARROQUIAS
La campaña Cosecha de Esperanza (Harvest of Hope) aportará a las parroquias fondos muy necesarios para ser usados de manera que mejor les beneficie.
Una vez que una parroquia supere su meta de la Campaña Católica Anual 2025, el 50% de los fondos recaudados, hasta el objetivo de la Cosecha de Esperanza, regresarán a la parroquia.
