Diocese of Savannah Educational Support Coordinator

Savannah (Catholic Pastoral Center)

Collaborates with three offices within the Department of Catholic Education – Office of Catholic Schools, Office of Catechesis for Children and Office of Youth Ministry.

Reports to Senior Director of Department of Catholic Education

Academic/Professional Requirements

  • High School diploma; Certificate/Degree from an accredited college/university (preferable)
  • Three-to-five years’ experience in administrative work and/or parish ministry or other related work
  • Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
  • Holds a valid driver’s license, be able to drive and qualify under the diocesan insurance carrier when operating a district vehicle (some travel required)
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Spanish language (preferable)
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs (Word, Excel), Google docs, Power BI

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates schedules of all offices to ensure that the department functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of records for the department.
  • Assists in the essential tasks of each Office, as assigned.
  • Assists in preparing for meeting and events.
  • Attends special events (see list above) as needed.
  • Prepares and distributes bulletins, newsletters and other information.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the Catholic Diocese of Savannah parishes, schools, and diocesan ministries.
  • Performs basic administrative duties including, but not limited to, fielding phone calls, sorting mail, copying, filing, ordering supplies.
