Collaborates with three offices within the Department of Catholic Education – Office of Catholic Schools, Office of Catechesis for Children and Office of Youth Ministry.
Reports to Senior Director of Department of Catholic Education
Academic/Professional Requirements
High School diploma; Certificate/Degree from an accredited college/university (preferable)
Three-to-five years’ experience in administrative work and/or parish ministry or other related work
Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
Holds a valid driver’s license, be able to drive and qualify under the diocesan insurance carrier when operating a district vehicle (some travel required)
Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency in Spanish language (preferable)
Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs (Word, Excel), Google docs, Power BI
Essential Functions
Coordinates schedules of all offices to ensure that the department functions efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for the maintenance of records for the department.
Assists in the essential tasks of each Office, as assigned.
Assists in preparing for meeting and events.
Attends special events (see list above) as needed.
Prepares and distributes bulletins, newsletters and other information.
Communicates effectively with all members of the Catholic Diocese of Savannah parishes, schools, and diocesan ministries.
Performs basic administrative duties including, but not limited to, fielding phone calls, sorting mail, copying, filing, ordering supplies.
Note: VIRTUS training and criminal background check are required for hiring.
