St. James Catholic Church has an opening for a bookkeeper. This is a full-time position designed to assist the pastor in areas of finance and human resources in accordance with diocesan policies for parishes. In addition the bookkeeper handles the financial work associated with the Early Learning Center operated by St. James Catholic Church.
This position is responsible for day-to-day administrative duties relative to finance, accounting, budgeting, human resources, record keeping, communications and information technology as well as oversight of plant management schedules and capital projects.
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years’ work experience that includes financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and record keeping as well as proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and an on-line payroll platform. Knowledge of ParishSoft will be helpful.
The successful candidate will be a Catholic in good standing with the Church, have excellent written and oral communication skills, knowledge of Catholic Church teachings, and strong organizational skills.
