The Director of Advancement oversees a comprehensive fundraising program, including support for the major gifts program, the Annual Giving program for parents, alumni, and members of both Catholic parishes, as well as the business community, foundation relations, planned giving, event management, communications and relations with alumni. The Director reports to the school principal and pastor.
Performance Responsibilities
Complies with policies and procedures established for St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in the Diocese of Savannah as outlined in the school’s Faculty Handbook, Parent/Student Handbook, and the Diocesan Catholic School’ Policy Handbook aising, recruitment, and alumni relations.
Has an overall knowledge of and can communicate the school’s mission
Reflects, in personal and professional life, a commitment to Gospel values
Accepts and supports Faith Community not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be live in worship, service, and interpersonal relationships
Is punctual in attendance and performance of regular duties
Dresses professionally as outlined in the Faculty Handbook
Attends specified meetings and designated workshops
Creates and implements a strategic fundraising plan
Provides leadership and guidance for team members including the Communication, Fundraising, and Enrollment Coordinator and Admissions Coordinator
Plans and administers the office’s annual budget
Plans, develops, and executes strategies for obtaining donations of annual, major, and planned gifts
Supervises the efforts to identify potential supporters
Supervises stewardship of donor philanthropy
Supervises the planning and execution of events to support fundraising and recruitment
Coordinates the planned giving program with the Communication, Fundraising, and Enrollment Coordinator
Assists the Principal and Pastor in identifying needs of SFXCS to be met by major gifts
Helps create and support implementation of a communications plan with the goal of enhancing fundraising, recruitment, and alumni relations
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Five years of full time, progressive annual fund and major gift experience
Demonstrated supervision of staff with experience motivating and building staff competencies
Strong communication skills as writer and speaker
Willingness to work nights and weekends
Willingness to fully integrate into the school, parish, and other communities
Familiarity with related database applications
Note: VIRTUS training and criminal background check are required for hiring.
