Saint James Catholic School is seeking an active, patient, person for the position of classroom aide. The Aide will work closely with the teacher for the benefit of the learners. The usual hours are from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Two positions are available.
The Classroom Aide shall:

Be at least 21 years of age; AND
-
Have a Bachelor’s degree with the equivalent of six (6) college credits in early childhood education; OR Have an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Child development or early childhood education

OR Have documented qualifications validated in writing by the school principal

Be willing to follow directions and the lead of the classroom teacher.

Be able to communicate effectively with students.
All aides should uphold the Catholic, Christ-centered mission of St. James Catholic School. All personnel will conduct themselves in a professional manner in both word and action. Staff members are expected to be Christian examples to other faculty and staff members, parents, and students and to adhere to all school and Diocesan policies.

Aides are responsible for helping teachers maintain the safety and well-being of their students in the classroom. Aides should assist teachers as they take reasonable measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students when the students are under their supervision.
This is a full-time position, with a competitive hourly wage being offered.
All candidates must be eligible to pass clearances and background checks. All employees must complete the VIRTUS training for safe environment.
