Welcome to the Second Annual Diocese of Savannah Catholic Scouting Camporee and Bonfire with Bishop Hartmayer.  We are looking forward to a fun filled weekend combining Spiritual and Scouting Activities.  This event is open to all Scouts (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, American Heritage Girls, Trail Life and Campfire Boys and Girls) regardless of faith.  You are welcome to attend for the entire weekend or come for the day on Saturday.

Do not miss the awards recognition with the Bishop at Mass. where Scouts who have earned their religious emblems in the current 2017-18 year will be recognized and honored by name.  Those who have earned the junior awards (Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Family of God and I Live My Faith) will be recognized by name.  Those who have earned their senior awards (Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII, Mary the First Disciple and The Sprit Alive) will receive their award from Bishop Hartmayer.  Dinner will be served after Mass at 6:30 p.m. Bishop will also pose with recipients for pictures after Mass.   We'll close the day out with a Bonfire!  All Scouts in attendance will receive a special commemorative event item (e.g., patch).

2018 Bishop England Trek
DEADLINE EXTENDED to April 1st, 2018

The 2018 Bishop England Trek is a high adventure Catholic leadership program for Catholic Boy Scouts and Venture Crew members situated on the Foot Hills Trail in the Upstate of South Carolina.  The program brings Catholic youth from the Province of Atlanta together with selected priests, religious and seminarians for 5 days of backpacking in the context of a vocation retreat.

  • ​Not a Boy Scout or Venture Crew member but you still want this great experience?  No problem at all.  If you are between 14 years of age and 18 years of age you qualify for this great trek!

This year's Trek will be June 10th-16th, 2018 at Foot Hills Trails, South Carolina.

Committee Purpose:

  1. To give guidance, vitality and leadership in the spiritual life of all Catholic Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire youth (SCOUTS) of the diocese.
  2. To make the entire Boy Scouts, Venture, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (SCOUTING) programs available to increasing numbers of youths in parish units and in units operated by Catholic organizations.
  3. To promote the spiritual growth of SCOUTS through religious emblems/recognition programs (AWARDS), retreats, and liturgies.
  4. To supplement the spiritual phase of SCOUTING programs with special instructions and activities for Catholic SCOUTS.
